Understanding View vs. Edit on a Customer Profile

In Onsight Pro, viewing a customer profile and editing a customer profile are two separate actions. Understanding which one to use will save you time when looking up or updating customer information.

The Difference

Edit is for updating basic contact information only — name, address, birthday, phone number, email address, and emergency contact.

View is for everything else — checking membership status, reviewing purchase history, managing payment methods, assigning waivers, and more.

If you are not sure which one you need, open View first.

How to Access Each One

Both options are available from the action icons on the right side of any customer row in the Customers screen.

  • The eye icon opens View.

  • The pencil icon opens Edit.

Edit: Updating Core Profile Information

Clicking the pencil icon opens the same form used to create the customer. From here you can update:

  • Home facility

  • First and last name

  • Date of Birth

  • Email

  • Barcode

  • Phone number

  • Emergency contact

  • Address

  • Proficiency levels

  • Discount profile

Click Save and Continue when you are done.

View: The Full Customer Profile

Clicking the eye icon opens the full customer profile. This is organized into tabs across the top of the screen.

Overview

Basic contact information from the customer's profile. This is a read-only display of the same fields available in Edit.

Memberships

All memberships currently or previously associated with this customer. Customers can hold multiple memberships at the same time — for example, a day pass and a gym membership, or separate memberships for multiple facilities.

Invoices & Payments

A history of purchases and payments on the account.

Billing

Payment methods stored on the customer's account. Multiple payment methods can be saved and one is designated as the default for billing. See [Storing Multiple Payment Methods on a Customer Record] for more detail.

Notes

Internal notes on the customer record. Functionality is the same as Rock Gym Pro.

Activity

A combined history tab containing:

  • Check-in and check-out history

  • Guest pass usage

  • Membership history (day passes, status changes, freezes, terminations, membership starts)

Documents

Liability waivers and other electronic documents associated with this customer. This tab shows both submitted documents and pending document obligations — waivers that have been requested but not yet completed by the customer.

Migrating from Rock Gym Pro?

In Rock Gym Pro, viewing and editing a customer record used the same interface. In Onsight Pro these are two separate actions. The Edit screen handles basic contact information. The View screen handles everything else — memberships, billing, documents, activity history, and configuration. If you are used to doing everything from one place, start by opening View and navigating from there.

  • Navigating the Customers Screen in Onsight Pro

  • Managing Multiple Memberships on a Single Customer

  • Storing Multiple Payment Methods on a Customer Record

  • Requesting a Waiver for a Specific Customer
